OUR BASIC SWEEPING CHARGES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

• £35.00... for one chimney which is either an open fire or a lined stove.
  £40.00... for an unlined stove where there is a registry plate through which we sweep and which has to be cleaned off.
  £40.00... for an oil fired boiler
  Our customers will confirm that we only charge more if absolutely necessary and the fire is  extremely difficult.
  
  More than one chimney in the same property?
  
  First chimney prices as above then each subsequent one
  
• £25.00... if it is a lined stove or an open fire.
  £30.00... if it is an unlined stove or an oil fired boiler
  
• Examples:
  a) one lined stove only                                £35
  b) one unlined stove only                            £40
  c) one open fire only                                   £35
  d) one lined stove and an open fire            £35 + £25 = £60
  e) one unlined stove and an open fire        £40 + £25 = £65
  f) one oil fired boiler and an open fire      £40 + £25 = £65
  g) one oil fired boiler and a lined stove     £40 + £25 = £65
  h) an oil fired boiler and an unlined stove  £40 + £30 = £70
  i) one unlined stove and one lined stove     £40 + £25 = £65
  j) two lined stoves                                      £35 + £25 = £60
  k) two unlined stoves                                  £40 + £30 = £70
  l) two open fires                                         £35 + £25 = £60
  
  If you do not know whether your chimney is lined, Geoff will be able to tell you when he examines it.
  
  We have kept our prices the same for the last 3 years.
  Our basic charge for a lined chimney or open fire remains the same at £35.00 but unfortunately we have had to increase some of our other prices this year (Winter 2009)
  
  Some sweeps charge by their time ( we are quite social and feel it would be unfair to charge for 'drinking tea' time!!) Joking aside, this is open to abuse as they could take much longer than was necessary.
  
  ... Some sweeps have a complicated system where they charge by the minute
  
  ... however, Geoff & June (Chimney Sweep North Devon)find it much easier to have a basic charge.

             Cheques or cash are fine (we're not quite up with technology to have a 
        credit card machine!)
